The Kompact Shortie Blow-Off Valve for the Focus RS has been developed with the Focus’s high boost pressure in mind, with the goal to improve performance and durability. Plastic OEM blow-off valves like those on the RS have a track record of failures – they leak, and they become brittle with age until they eventually crack, causing serious problems. Producing around 23 PSI of boost pressure in standard form, the Focus is already pushing the boundaries of its standard plastic blow-off valve – and there’s not much room to turn the boost up before the standard valve will struggle to keep up.

Turbosmart’s new Kompact VR09 Plumb Back for the 1.0-litre EcoBoost is a billet aluminium replacement for the Fiesta’s factory plastic BOV.
The Plumb Back is a full recirculating valve for quieter operation and OEM-style operation, with all the performance benefits of a Turbosmart BOV.
The standard bypass valve on the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engines is a weak, plastic, diaphragm-type valve – a type of valve that has a track record of failures. Turbosmart’s billet aluminium replacement is manufactured with precision, designed for unlimited boost holding capability, excellent response times and heavy-duty reliability.
Installation is straightforward, and the valve is a bolt-on direct replacement for the factory valve. No special tools are required and all necessary hardware is included.
The Kompact VR09 is precision machined, hand assembled and individually quality tested in Australia to the highest quality standards.

The Fiesta ST Shortie is produced with a light-weight, brass/aluminium, two-piece piston, which is then perfectly matched with precision engineered springs, giving razor sharp valve response, and a serious increase in performance over stock valves. The Shortie’s dual port design provides one plumb back port to keep the car’s computer happy, and a second vent to atmosphere port for that trademark Turbosmart BOV sound we all know and love.
